On 28 September 2005 The Ann Arbor News reported: Over 1,800 people at the University of Michigan heard filmmaker David Lynch talk about Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation (TM) programme and his reasons for forming the Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace. He was accompanied by Dr John Hagelin, who spoke about the capacity of TM to bring positive effects to the world, and Dr Fred Travis of Maharishi University of Management who presented his research on brain activity during TM. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of education.

Over 1,400 were in the hall and another 400 crowded outside and watched on a video display while Lynch answered questions from the audience, always returning to his topic of the TM programme and his goal to support young people who want to learn TM.

According to the article; 'One attendee expressed a religion-based skepticism of TM. ''I was raised Christian,'' replied Lynch. ''I love Jesus, and people from all religions practise Transcendental Meditation. ... I believe all the great religions are rivers running to one ocean. ... There's no conflict''.'

Dr Hagelin pointed out the many benefits of TM for students and he drew applause from the audience when he remarked, 'We could see a more fundamental unity of man—though it's not happening very fast with this current administration.'

In addition to discussing his research, Dr Travis presented a demonstration of the brain activity of a volunteer from the audience. His presentaion showed the difference between the brain activity in an active or restful state.

Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
