During July and August, 32 Computer Professionals program students were hired by U.S. companies—the highest placement rate since the year 2000.
According to placement specialist Carolyn Duszynski, credit for the increase goes to increased momentum of the Compro Placement Office as well as to an improved economy.
She also cites the high quality of the students. 'Many companies and IT recruiters find our students to be very intelligent and proficient. So they return to hire more of them as new positions open,' she said.
One recruiter said, 'We are very pleased with Leonisa. If the rest are like her you are very fortunate. I am glad it worked out. I am sure we will be able to use more of your candidates.'
Another reason for the record number of placements is referrals from working students.
