''I meditated before I hosted the Oscars,'' says actor Hugh Jackman

8 June 2015
Fairfield, IA — (ReleaseWire) — For Hollywood actor and Golden Globe winner Hugh Jackman, Transcendental Meditation has been a ''life-changer.'' Before he learnt in 2012, Jackman described how his mind had previously been on a constant lookout for something to do, and this had led to bizarre habits. For example, while driving, he would raise his left foot every time a telegraph pole went past the window: ''There was no fear of something bad happening, just the need to ceaselessly occupy the mind,'' he said.
With Transcendental Meditation, however, Jackman has mastered the art of leaning back and letting go.
''In meditation, I can let go of everything. . . . Nothing has ever opened my eyes like Transcendental Meditation has. It makes me calm and happy, and, well, it gives me some peace and quiet in what's a pretty chaotic life!' he says.
Asked to comment, Mark Heath Chairman of the Transcendental Meditation Brighton centre in East Sussex, UK said,
''Transcendental Meditation has been scientifically proven to reduce stress, improve focus, and increase self esteem. Whether you are a multi talented world famous actor, or a student doing GCSE's, TM has the potential to make your life better in some way.''
For Hugh, the fact that TM requires no adherence to any faith or religion is of significant appeal. He says:
''Anyone can do it. You can be an atheist who meditates, a Christian who meditates, a Muslim who meditates. It's like saying, 'Is walking a religious thing?' No. It's available to anyone, and the quality of your life is changed forever.''
About Transcendental Meditation

Global Good News comment:
This news has been featured in DigitalJournal.com and other publications. Press reports continue to appear about award-winning actor Hugh Jackman, who reflected on risk in his profession, the 'gotta-gotta' mind, and practising Transcendental Meditation before hosting the Oscars, in a recent radio interview with Bob Roth, Executive Director of the David Lynch Foundation. Bob hosts a monthly radio show on SiriusXM, Success without Stress, in addition to directing the foundation's successful programmes bringing TM to at-risk populations suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)—including veterans and war refugees, inner-city school students, prison inmates, homeless people, and women and children survivors of violence and abuse.
