On 5 February 2015 Vogue magazine reported: Transcendental Meditation ''is profoundly restful—the next eight to ten hours of my day, my energy levels will be clear, focused, and coherent,'' says Bob Roth, executive director of the David Lynch Foundation. ''If I don't have the energy to put ideas into place, what do I have?'' It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of culture.
Mr Roth was quoted at length in a recent article by Vogue's Beauty Editor Mackenzie Wagoner, in which she reacts to the pervading culture of ''so busy'' with a new resolution ''to slow down, learn when to say no, and make time for myself.''
For more than 40 years, Ms Wagoner writes, Roth ''has found that 20 minutes of Transcendental Meditation . . . each morning is all it takes to reset the body and mind. 'It's more restful than sleep,' he says, because aside from TM's immediate centering and thought-quieting effects, research suggests that the practice, when repeated over time, reverses the harmful effects of chronic stress—the kind of stress that stockpiles when you're running at top speed through a self-imposed calendar of appointments.''
