On 18 June 2011 The Daily Republic reported: Mike Love of Beach Boys fame, now 70, has been touring and playing rock 'n' roll for almost half a century, but said he isn't road-weary: 'It's actually much easier to perform these days.' Much of the credit goes to Transcendental Meditation, said Love, who learned the technique from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in 1967 and continues to practise it regularly. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of culture.

'It's healing, it's profoundly relaxing and because of the deep rest it gives you a little more clarity and energy,' Love said. 'That's been a huge secret weapon for me since late 1967.'

The Daily Republic also reported that Mr Love went to India in 1968 to study with Maharishi, along with the Beatles and singer-songwriter Donovan. 'It was a fascinating time,' the article quotes him as saying.

'Love said it seems like almost every year a Beach Boys song is included in a major movie and oldies radio stations continue to play their classics. It is indeed an endless summer.'
