The Album of Events page of Global Good News is featuring this album, illustrated by a slideshow with many colourful and inspiring photos.
Please click on the following link to enjoy viewing and learning more about 'Canada: Conference on Global Health—'Pathways to Health through Indigenous Knowledge'.
The Album features a symposium held during the 17th Annual Conference on Global Health, convened recently in Ottawa, Ontario, which drew 450 delegates from 40 countries.
The symposium, hosted by the Assembly of First Nations of Canada, presented the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and the Global Country of World Peace. Dr John Hagelin,* world-renowned quantum physicist and Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace, spoke on 'Pathways to Health through Indigenous Knowledge: First Nations as Custodians of Natural Law in Restoring Healthy, Sustainable First Nations Communities'.
The Album features distinguished First Nations leaders, including Kathleen McHugh, Chair of the Canadian Association of First Nations Women's Council, and Marie Frawley-Henry, Chair of the AFN Diabetes Working Group, who were keynote speakers. They had recently attended an international women's conference at Maharishi University of Management in Iowa, USA: Restoring Balance: The Indigenous Grandmothers' Call to the Women of the World.
Among other leaders featured are Tim Paul, Executive Director of the Maliseet Nation Conservation Council, and Nick Paul, a lawyer and youth director, who, like Tim Paul, has devoted 30 years to advancing the lives of First Nations people. Nick Paul said, 'I used to think that economic development was the way to help our people, but now I realize that the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi are the way to restore balance.'
* Dr Hagelin is also President of the David Lynch Foundation; Executive Director of the International Center for Invincible Defense; and National Director of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in the United States.
