Germany: Dr David Lynch honoured with awards, presents on Transcendental Meditation Programme
by Global Good News staff writer

30 October 2010
Renowned filmmaker Dr David Lynch toured Germany earlier this autumn, during which time he received prestigious awards, spoke to students about Consciousness-Based Education, was interviewed by media, and hosted an event for practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Programme.
In September, Dr Lynch was awarded the Cologne Film Prize. He was also awarded the prestigious and historically significant Goslar Kaiserring for his paintings.
In accepting these awards and speaking with media in Germany, Dr Lynch took the opportunity to bring out the knowledge of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, which has influenced his work both in film and painting. For example, during an interview with a German TV station about the award presentations, Dr Lynch explained how practice of Transcendental Meditation enlivens full brain potential, unlike typical daily activities which activate only parts of the brain. During this interview Dr Lynch also emphasized the importance of establishing coherence-creating groups of Yogic Flyers to bring invincibility to all nations and the world.
On 10 October 2010, Dr Lynch connected via web conference to speak to students at a media arts school in Cologne, Germany, concerning the benefits of Consciousness-Based Education. He described how the simple twice-daily practice of Transcendental Meditation, when integrated into a school curriculum, can help improve academic achievement and creativity, and decrease stress and related mental disorders.
On the same day, Dr Lynch hosted a meeting for Transcendental Meditation practitioners and Yogic Flyers in Hamburg, where he discussed the growing interest among Germans—and people throughout the world—in learning the technique.
