Ali Stephens is a supermodel based in New York, whose radiant presence has taken the fashion industry by storm in campaigns for major fashion houses in the US and Europe.

Ali is a supporter of the David Lynch Foundation and has been practising the Transcendental Meditation Programme for over 10 years.

'I've always wanted to be actress so it's not hard for me to portray something in front of a camera,' she said in an interview on David Lynch Foundation Television (DLF.TV). 'In a way it doesn't feel like work for me, which is a good thing, because it makes it a lot easier.'

In the interview, Ali describes how she first started modelling and immediately went to Milan. She never would have thought she would see herself on the cover of magazines or on billboards.

'I am very religious—my whole family is Mormon in Utah—so with me that's a big thing. Also practising Transcendental Meditation, which I've been doing for ten years now, that's a big part of my life, twice a day.'

Ali continues, 'It's important for children.' Referring to the David Lynch Foundation's generous support for programmes teaching Transcendental Meditation to at-risk schoolchildren around the world, she said, 'I think it's cool that the whole Foundation is taking a stand in teaching kids what could help so many—not just them, but their parents, all their families, everybody. David Lynch is doing all that; I think it's incredible what he's doing.'
