David Lynch remains Zen
by Hubert Lize

11 May 2008
On 11 May 2008 Le Parisien reported:
Filmmaker David Lynch was recently in Paris speaking about his new book, in which he discusses creativity, film, painting, music, and Transcendental Meditation--a technique which he has practised daily for thirty-five years.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of culture.
When asked how the Transcendental Meditation Technique has influenced his work, Mr Lynch commented that his practice of Transcendental Meditation has brought him great inner happiness. Creativity springs from the reservoir of inner peace and energy experienced through Transcendental Meditation, he said. It's not right to think that anger and suffering help the creative process, he continued. The less a person is prone to anxiety and sadness, the more he is able to be successful in his undertakings.
This is the reason, he said, that he created the David Lynch Foundation. He wanted to offer every student of the world the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of this technique. Scientific research shows that students and teachers are transformed through Transcendental Meditation—they are happier, and there is less school violence, less drug abuse etc. In the US, twelve schools are already taking advantage of this programme.
Mr Lynch said he is currently working on a documentary that is a film equivalent of his book.
