On 7 May 2008 Le Figaro.fr reported:
Filmmaker David Lynch is the author of the book published in France with the title Mon histoire vraie*, in which he discusses how Transcendental Meditation has profoundly enriched his career and his life.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of culture.
Mr Lynch, a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation since 1973, also started a foundation for the purpose of offering 'education based on consciousness and peace in the world', the article quotes from Lynch's book.
In his book, which the article describes as calm and clear with short chapters like poems, Mr Lynch remembers how he felt when he learned to meditate. 'I felt a sublime happiness—physical, emotional, mental, spiritual.'
Mr Lynch explains that during Transcendental Meditation, one experiences 'the deepest level of life, and there is no negativity in this field of consciousness.' Worries, concerns, and anger 'faded naturally' with the practice of Transcendental Meditation, he continued.
He said he realized that 'suffering is not fruitful' for an artist. The experience of 'the deepest level of consciousness' enlivens coherent and holistic brain functioning, he said, and allows one to 'grow indefinitely in intelligence, love, and peace'.
Global Good News comment:
* In the United States the book is entitled Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity
