The article features two faculty members of Maharishi University of Management, David Goodman and John Revolinski, who have recently shared their expert knowledge on decision making and workplace productivity at academic conferences.
Dr Goodman presented a paper entitled 'Expanding Awareness in Financial Decision Making' at the Financial Management Association annual meeting in Denver and at the Academy of Management annual meeting in San Antonio. In context of discussing discounted cash flow techniques, he pointed out that by expanding one's consciousness, one can develop both the rational and the intuitive skills sets needed to succeed in a wide range of economic circumstances. 'The Transcendental Meditation technique has much to offer to these financial decision makers,' he says.
Also in Denver, at the annual conference of the Employee Assistance Professionals Association, Mr Revolinski presented research on the effects of stress on health and productivity, and beneficial effects of the Transcendental Meditation program on these issues, with significant success in corporate settings.
