Please click on the following link to read more about 'MUM students place 1st in national business simulation'.
The article features a team from the Accounting MBA degree program* at Maharishi University of Management, who finished first in a nationwide business simulation competition among 137 teams over a recent six-month period.
The simulation was part of Dr Andrew Bargerstock's class, U.S. and International Accounting Practices; it compared integrated decision-making skills over eight rounds of decision-making. The simulation creator, Capsim Management Simulations, Inc. of Northfield, Illinois, is the largest business game provider in the USA.
Both strong analytical skills and informed intuition are valuable for simulation decision-making. The MUM team reports that its success came from a combination of good decisions about product pricing, building customer awareness, product innovation, cost control, training and development of personnel, sound financing strategies, and other business factors.
''When our MBA students perform so well against some of the best business schools in the USA, it validates the quality of their integrated decision-making skills and builds confidence that they can compete effectively in the challenging international business environment,'' Dr Bargerstock said.
* Special features of the unique approach to MBA education at MUM include:
∙ Management by Natural Law. Through a course in the Science and Technology of Consciousness (STC), students appreciate how nature organizes according to the path of least resistance (flow) and how to unlock their own creativity in a purposeful and coherent manner to enhance decision-making.
∙ Transcendental Meditation technique. Students learn the most widely practiced, extensively researched, and most effective method of self-development in the world. All students practice this simple, natural technique each day to improve learning ability, optimize brain functioning, and reduce stress.
