The Institute for Excellence in Africa was founded to identify and implement proven, prevention-oriented, forward-looking solutions to critical national, continental and global problems facing Africa.
The Institute works in close cooperation with universities, research institutes, governmental and private foundations, and business and industry. Having attracted a core group of renowned scientists and expert policy advisors, the Institute is rapidly becoming a leading international center for the latest knowledge about innovative programs that work. With dynamic international and grassroots leadership, the Institute is spearheading a wide range of cutting-edge initiatives in the fields of education, health care, economic development, cultural integrity, social harmony and peace.
Development projects are currently underway in South Africa, Uganda, Ghana, Senegal, and Kenya, and Institute programs have also been implemented in all parts of the world from India to North America to Latin America to Europe through affiliate organizations and institutions.
Innovation for Excellence The Institute for Excellence in Africa offers programs to address fundamental challenges in society. A key to change is the development of individual and collective consciousness so that it displays full creativity, intelligence and harmony.
Without this fundamental awakening of human potential, the provision of mere economic assistance, infrastructure, and social systems will not be effective in solving the problems of poverty, sickness, conflict, and suffering found throughout Africa.
Therefore, the initiatives the Institute and its partners promote include not just sustainable organic agriculture; natural prevention-oriented healthcare; balanced and fair economic development; and cultural integrity—but, most importantly, Consciousness-based education to awaken the full potential of every individual.
One of the key methodologies used in Consciousness-based education is the Transcendental Meditation technique to improve the cognitive functioning of the brain and increase creativity and intelligence.
Transcendental Meditation is a simple, natural technique to promote the development of consciousness. It is compatible with all faiths and traditions and has been learned by over 5 million people throughout the world.

More than 600 scientific research studies conducted at over 250 universities and research institutions in 33 countries have shown the profound benefits of this technology of consciousness in all areas of individual life—mind, body, behavior, and society.
Research further shows that even a small number of experts in this technology can reduce conflict and social stress and transform the trends of time towards a new era of peace and prosperity for their nation and the entire world family.
