21 July 2013
Transcendental Meditation has grown steadily in popularity in Russia since it was first introduced in the country over 20 years ago. In recent years the organization teaching the technique has expanded rapidly in bringing the programme to people throughout the nation.
Russia has 59 certified teachers of Transcendental Meditation. In the last five years 1,500 people in the country have learned the technique, more than 300 in the last year.
The national organization for Transcendental Meditation in Russia, known as 'Maharishi Vedic Science and Technology for Health, Prosperity and Invincibility of Nations', has created websites to make widely available the knowledge and technologies of consciousness developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to improve the quality of life of individuals and the whole society.
The site www.Maharishi-TM.ru introduces the Transcendental Meditation programme, including where to learn the technique and a summary of key scientific research findings on its benefits.
www.Maharishi-Programs.ru presents courses that offer in-depth knowledge and advanced programmes for those who practise Transcendental Meditation.
Several new websites were launched this year. People interested in the ancient and holistic Vedic science of health can visit www.Maharishi-Ayurveda.ru to learn about the natural health-promoting programmes of Maharishi Ayur-Veda in Russia.
Bringing the knowledge and benefits of Maharishi Vastu architecture to Russian-speaking people, www.Maharishi-Vastu.ru is filled with images of beautiful homes built according to principles of Vastu,* also known as Maharishi Sthapatya Veda. Currently three Vastu houses are being built in Russia.
In other news in this area, the Maharishi Vastu Builder Seminar was offered in Russia.
Over two years ago a building in Moscow was located with proper orientation (one of the main principles of Vastu architecture), which has been operating as a Maharishi Invincibility Centre since that time. The centre is used for teaching Transcendental Meditation, for courses in other areas of Maharishi's knowledge, and for group practice of TM and its advanced programmes, which scientific research has shown creates an influence of coherence and harmony in collective consciousness.
In the last five years nearly 900 people have learned advanced techniques of Transcendental Meditation. More than 300 advanced meditation practitioners have taken part in 14 All-Russia World Peace Assemblies.
Several Russians have also participated in large national coherence-creating assemblies in other countries, including the Invincible America Assembly in the United States and World Peace Assemblies in the Netherlands.
The national director of the Transcendental Meditation programme for women in Russia regularly conducts courses for women and girls to learn the technique, as well as special programmes for those already practising.
* Vastu refers to Vedic architecture—the complete knowledge of design and building in accord with natural law—brought to light from the Vedic literature by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and known as Maharishi Sthapatya Veda.
