The Transcendental Meditation programme for women is offered in two cities in Poland, Warsaw and Krakow.
In Warsaw, introductory lectures to learn about Transcendental Meditation are offered for women every week.
In addition, those who have already learned the technique can enjoy a variety of programmes including weekly group meditations, said Maria Stanislawiak, a Transcendental Meditation teacher who coordinates programmes for women in Poland.
Monthly 'Coherence Days' are also held, where women meet to practise Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques together, then enjoy a meal followed by an inspirational knowledge meeting. In Krakow, similar meetings are held every two months.
Group meditations and Coherence Days are popular in other countries as well. Scientific research has shown that group practice of Transcendental Meditation, and especially the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi programme, increases social coherence and decreases social stress, crime, and violence. While enriching their own experience, participants have the satisfaction of knowing that they are creating a positive effect for their community and nation.
Women have also been inspiring their friends to learn Transcendental Meditation, with 10 participating in the course in June. A businesswoman, a physiotherapist, and a student are among women who have learned the technique this year.
Transcendental Meditation teachers have been contacting organizations and societies for women, to inform their members about the scientifically documented benefits of the programme for promoting health, happiness, creativity, and relief from stress.
The first Polish-language video about Transcendental Meditation is now on YouTube. In the video a Polish woman shares her good experiences and appreciation of the practice.
