MERU Concerts Translate This Article
15 July 2012
Two leading performers of Indian classical music*—Prasad Bhandarkar and Utsav Lal—were featured in the second concert, held 30 June, in a series of three special Gandharva Veda concerts held in MERU, Holland.
Prasad Bhandarkar — Flute Prasad Bhandarkar has mastered Bansuri flute by learning Indian classical music from great maestros including Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia and Pandit Partha Chatterjee.
Prasad is renowned for his soulful, soothing renditions on Bansuri flute. His performances warm the hearts and minds of the audience and transport them to another world, a world where music connects the soul with divinity, joy and beauty. The heavenly melodies of his flute enliven love, peace, and bliss in the atmosphere.
Utsav Lal — Piano Utsav Lal, one of India's youngest concert pianists, has been credited with giving the world the sound of ragas on the piano. Utsav has been honoured with the distinction 'Young Steinway Artist' and is currently listed among the world's top pianists.
Utsav's creative expression of the feelings and emotions of ragas on his piano has been critically acclaimed. The spell-binding rendition of his music flows naturally and spontaneously from within.

* Indian classical music, revived by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi as Maharishi Gandharva Veda, is eternal music of nature that produces its effect by bringing mind, body, and environment in harmony with universal rhythms of nature.
