Peace-creating experts poised to establish and expand groups around the world

A 'new wave' of Maharishi Vedic Pandits will soon be established in Maharishi Vedic City in Iowa, USA, said Dr Robert Wynne, the city's mayor. By May he expects that there will be 1,250 Vedic Pandits in residence, participating in the Invincible America Assembly—greatly augmenting the ability of the large group of meditators to create coherence, harmony, and peaceful, positive trends in the nation.

In addition, Mayor Wynne said, 'We project by the end of this year, 2012, we'll have over 2,000 Vedic Pandits' who are ready to come from India to America, as well as to other locations around the world.

This will raise the overall number practising Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's peace-creating technologies of consciousness, and thereby increase the coherence these groups can generate in national and world consciousness.

The Vedic Pandits of India are groups of experts practising the Transcendental Meditation Programme and its advanced techniques including Yogic Flying. In addition to these techniques, they are also trained in special Vedic performances, called Yagyas, to enliven peace in the environment. The Vedic Pandits devote their entire day and schedule to the creation and maintenance of peace, thus they are fortunate neighbors to have, Dr Wynne commented.

He spoke further about the progress in preparing Vedic Pandits in India to create and join large groups around the world. About 2,040 are in process to come to the United States, he said. (These will also be available to replace Pandits in the existing groups who must return home when their visas are over.)

He mentioned that over a span of 30 years, Maharishi had trained around 55,000 Vedic Pandits. In the last year, efforts have been made to invite some of the Pandits to be retrained. So far, over 1,300 have accepted the invitation, and Dr Wynne estimates the same number will do so this year.

This means that with many more new Vedic Pandits available, other countries besides the United States can expect to invite and host the peace-creating experts as well.
