During his recent visit to Norway,* filmmaker Dr David Lynch spoke about the value of Transcendental Consciousness experienced through the Transcendental Meditation Programme.
The increased integration of brainwave activity found in those who practise Transcendental Meditation is especially important in schools and prisons, he said.
Maharishi Mahesh Yogi emphasized the importance of this for children, Dr Lynch said. Speaking about the wide-ranging benefits, he appealed to his audience to make this programme available to young people, especially since benefits continue to grow over time.
Research shows, he said, that a 10-year practitioner generally maintains the brain integration and coherence gained through Transcendental Meditation much longer than a new practitioner, and eventually these effects are never lost.
Transcendental Meditation is a scientifically proven technique that will save people's lives; it will save the country, he continued. Crime will be reduced and prisons will begin to empty, he said.
Transcendental Meditation can be taught in prisons, Dr Lynch commented, reducing aggression, stress, and recidivism.
