Nepal: Discovering the goal of education - to be established in evenness of life

Nepal is rich in natural beauty and the fullness of Vedic knowledge and culture—which is why Maharishi Mahesh Yogi called his 1974 initiative to bring Vedic Science and the practice of Transcendental Meditation to the people of the nation, 'Nepal to lead the world.'

Recent achievements in the country were presented on the 36th anniversary of Maharishi's 1974 visit to Nepal, during the October Full Moon celebration by the Global Mother Divine Organization.* A special highlight of the celebration was the video of an address by Maharishi to the people of Kathmandu in November 1974, in which he spoke about the value of being established in evenness of life.

During the celebration, the Administrator of the Global Mother Divine Organization for Nepal explained that during Maharishi's 1974 visit, he presented the educators of Nepal with 'the secret of performance': to think and act from the home of all knowledge, the home of all the Laws of Nature, the transcendental field of pure consciousness.

Maharishi inspired everyone to establish themselves in evenness. 'This is the target of education,' the Administrator said, 'and also the fruit of all knowledge.'

Presenting Maharishi's principle, she commented that the prevailing systems of education in the world awaken man to the realization of the greater range of ignorance, because the knowledge of knower is missing. 'Maharishi invited everyone to enjoy the fruit of all knowledge—being established in evenness—which enables one to enjoy the relative (outer) field of life without losing the unbounded nature of life,' which is experienced as one's own Self during the practice of Transcendental Meditation.

The Administrator presented the video replay of Maharishi's November 1974 address in Nepal—in which he presented his profound formula for fulfilment in education. Global Good News will feature highlights of this address in the coming days.

* 'Mother Divine' refers to the nourishing, evolutionary power of Natural Law lively within all of creation and within the silent consciousness of everyone.
