Togo: More people learning Transcendental Meditation

In Togo, a new Maharishi Invincibility Centre is stirring interest in the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Rising numbers of people are learning the Transcendental Meditation Programme, and there is also increasing involvement among native people.

Raja Graham de Freitas, Raja of Invincible Togo for the Global Country of World Peace, recently travelled to the nation.*

He visited Togo's beautiful new Maharishi Invincibility Centre,** established last year. With three storeys, the Maharishi Invincibility Centre has ample space for offices, meeting and lecture halls, as well as residential areas for guests and the National Directors of Maharishi's programmes in Togo, he said.

In just the past two years, the number of people practising Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Programme has increased significantly, Raja Graham continued.

In 2008, the National Directors, who were new Teachers of Transcendental Meditation at the time, were the only two people practising the technique that Raja Graham knew of in the country. Since then, they have taught Transcendental Meditation to nearly 100 people.

During his stay, Raja Graham also met with local native people and their chief, introducing them to Maharishi's programmes for the benefit of all areas of society. Raja Graham spoke in French, and a translator reiterated his words in the local language.

The chief felt that the talk was so important that he re-emphasized it in the local language, his Mother Tongue. The translation by the chief was very clear and profound, Raja Graham learned afterward.
