Speaking 15 July 2008 on Maharishi Global Family Chat, Dr Benjamin Feldman, Minister of Finance and Planning for the Global Country of World Peace, gave an address to the global Guru Purnima* Assembly in MERU, Netherlands.

Speaking on the second day of the Assembly, Dr Feldman began his speech by reiterating the message of a recently broadcast historic address by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace—reminding us of our status as individuals, 'like bright stars in the night sky, lighting up the life of all those around us'.

Dr Feldman continued: 'Everyone has been given by Maharishi the gift of unbounded Nature, of that which is omnipresent, omniscient, and transcendental. And in cherishing this gift for ourselves and for our environments, we simply create Heaven on Earth. That is our status. Simply through thousands of Yogic Flyers, we can maintain that eternal light of Total Knowledge so that any individual can rise to enlightenment, and any country to invincibility.'

Dr Feldman went on to say that Maharishi's blessings are available to us in every area of life, in all of the 12 areas of society administered by National and Regional Directors. 'It is through the simple institutions of healthcare, education, and agriculture that we receive the grace and blessing of Guru Dev**. And it is a great joy for us to fulfil our responsibilities, to fulfil our status as recipients of this grace, by lending our assistance in the actualization of these ideal institutions.

'Anyone, by simply focusing his attention on a specific field, can achieve the results desired in that field. We never undermine our own status: the great importance we have for our communities, nations, and for the world. We are always inspired by Maharishi's example, one man basking in the blessings of Guru Dev, in total enlightenment, bringing that light to all those who would wish for it.'

Dr Feldman paused to remember that, in November of last year, Maharishi said that he never lost heart in working towards his goals. 'Even if 99 people rejected his teachings, he knew that even 1 in 100 would be sufficient in bringing about his creation of Heaven on Earth.' Maharishi also reminded us then that it did not matter why a person accepted his knowledge; one can begin the Transcendental Meditation Technique from any level of understanding, and with regular practice, that understanding will rise. 'One's consciousness naturally discloses the reality within oneself,' added Dr Feldman. 'And we know that only a few like this, accepting Maharishi's gift, are sufficient to light the darkness in their own city, country, and world.'

Global Good News will feature the continuation of this address by Dr Benjamin Feldman in the coming days.

*Guru Purnima is the special celebration in honour of the eternal Vedic Tradition of knowledge, on the full moon day in July, celebrated globally this year on 18 July. The Assembly in MERU extended from 14-25 July.
