On 5 June 2005 Des Moines Register reported: 'A non-profit organization founded by followers of Transcendental Meditation (TM) guru Maharishi Mahesh Yogi wants to open mall-based ''enlightenment centres'' and multimillion-dollar ''Peace Palaces'' in Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and seven other Iowa cities.' The Des Moines Register is one of a number of newspapers and television stations who have reported on the plan to create 3,000 Peace Palaces across the US. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of world peace.

Other media sources include WHO-TV, KWQC-TV, the Ames Daily Tribune, the Mason City Gazette, the Cedar Rapids Gazette, the Portland Herald Times and the GlobeOn-line. There are also Peace Palaces planned for Ames, Iowa City, Maharishi Vedic City, Fairfield, Dubuque, Davenport, and the Waterloo area.

In her article, The Des Moines Register's Colleen Krantz went on to say that the Peace Palaces will offer courses in the Transcendental Meditation Programme as well as offering a day spa, classroom space, and retail outlets for herbal products.

Bob Wynne, president of the Global Country of World Peace and mayor of Maharishi Vedic City, told Krantz, 'We've been offering these products and services for 50 years, and we have people trained in doing this, so this is just the rollout. . . And it's not just in Iowa, but every state.'

Krantz noted that advertisements have been running in several Iowa newspapers, directing those interested to a website that encourages five to 10 'prominent families of every city to join us in becoming the 'founders of the Peace Palace'. Those families—or donors&mddash;are expected to cover the estimated $3 million needed to acquire land, and construct the main 12,000-square-foot building and any annex buildings.

'This building and the activities are going to have such a profound effect on the health and well-being of the community as people learn to practise Transcendental Meditation and learn the other methods to strengthen their health. We thought prominent families would want to see this done since they would enjoy the benefits most quickly,' said David Sands, co-director of the planned Peace Palace in Des Moines.

The goal in creating Peace Palaces across the nation is to 'crown humanity with its rightful destiny—to live in permanent peace and radiate Total Natural Law—the light of God—on Earth, thereby ending the age-old legacy of problems and suffering,' TM leaders have said.

Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
