Arizona is among top states for renewable energy, report says

The Environment Arizona and Policy Center released a report on Tuesday (17 July) that focuses on how well the nation is utilizing renewable energy. Arizona has dramatically increased renewable energy production since 2008, the report said, and ranks high in several categories.

Arizona came in second to California in 2017. Since 2008, Arizona's production has grown from 35 gigawatts to 6,498 GW. One GW can power about 300,000 homes.
Annual sales of electric vehicles in the U.S. passed 100,000 for the first time last year. Arizona sold 6,030 electric vehicles, ranking No. 11 in the nation for cumulative sales. Arizona ranks sixth for registered electric vehicles as shown in the map. [See full article for map]
