Speaking recently on the Maharishi Global Family Chat, Dr Robert Roth, National Director of Expansion for the Global Country of World Peace in the United States, reported plans for an international conference on the effects of the Transcendental Meditation Technique on brain functioning, to be held at Maharishi University of Management (MUM) in Fairfield, Iowa.
Working with Dr Fred Travis at MUM's Center for Consciousness, Brain, and Cognition, Dr Roth aims to hold the conference on MUM's Founder's Day, 12 September, of this year. Among those invited to the conference, which will focus on research applicable to the field of education, will be top brain researchers from around the world, as well as top educators who have implemented the Transcendental Meditation Technique in their classrooms.
The full-day conference will be globally webcast, reported Dr Roth, and will address issues such as how the Transcendental Meditation Technique transforms the brain, and how to eliminate the problems that plague our schools today, such as violence, crime, stress, and anxiety.
'Most importantly,' said Dr Roth in closing, 'the conference will address how the Transcendental Meditation Technique fulfils the purpose of education, which is to develop the full, unbounded potential of every child.'
