Former tobacco barns repurposed for anti-smoking message

On 22 December 2017 The Associated Press reported: Michiel Vaughn for decades raised tobacco on his Ballard County Kentucky farm, but after seeing the effects of smoking on his community he decided to stop growing the crop. Now his 100 year old tobacco barn promotes an anti smoking message. The mural is one of two on iconic tobacco barns that the state of Kentucky has paid for using federal grant money to help drive home the anti-smoking message. ... It's a milestone for Kentucky, whose economy once depended on the tobacco industry, that the government is supporting the anti-smoking effort in ways that once seemed impossible.
