The 16-lesson course, Good Health through Prevention, goes deeply into the knowledge of the holistic, prevention-oriented approach of Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care.
The course is being offered for women this week—6 to 12 August—in Seelisberg, Switzerland, under the auspices of the College of Maharishi Ayur-Veda, MERU.
The 16-lesson course is also a prererequisite for taking the Healthy, Happy Mother and Baby Course for women health professionals, beginning 13 August in Seelisberg.
The course materials give an overview of the knowledge covered in this very comprehensive programme:
'During this 16-lesson course, we will examine how the five elements that structure the human physiology (and all life on Earth) combine into three principles of intelligence (Vāta, Pitta, Kapha) governing all the major structures and functions in the body, including the reproductive tissues and organs.
'Then we will examine why a healthy digestion is important for the normal and healthy formation of all the seven tissues (Sapta Dhatus) defined by Maharishi Ayur-Veda as lymph, blood, muscle, fat, bone, bone marrow, and reproductive tissue.
'We will learn how undigested waste materials can block the channels in the reproductive tissues and how the waste materials can be removed; and we will learn about the finest product of digestion, called Ojas in the knowledge of Ayur-Veda, which is the most essential substance for a healthy conception and pregnancy.
'We will also introduce the method of pulse diagnosis that is used by Maharishi Ayur-Veda to give prospective parents personal advice on how to create balance in the three principles of intelligence (Vāta, Pitta, Kapha) and the seven tissues (Sapta Dhatus); how to remove waste material (Āma) from the body and always maintain the body in optimum health through correct diet and daily routine; and how to enhance the finest product of digestion (Ojas).'
