Across Metro Vancouver, more residents are choosing to beat the traffic by biking. Bicycle commuting is up more than 25 per cent since 2008, according to a new survey by TransLink released during Bike to Work Week, which ends Friday. The transit authority found that commuters across the region were making a total of 106,500 bike trips a day -- more than half of them to and from work, according to the latest data from fall 2011.
