Maharishi Ayurveda Hospital becomes first in North India to get NABH accreditation

New Delhi, October 24 : In a grand function held on on 24 October, Maharishi Ayurveda announced that Maharishi Ayurveda Hospital, Shalimar Bagh, New Delhi  has become the first Ayurveda hospital in North India to be accredited by the National Hospital Accreditation Board of Hospitals (NABH) for Health Care Services. With this it has also joined the select group of one hundred hospitals Accredited by NABH in India.

The function, jointly organized by Indraprasthiya Vaiya Sabha and Maharishi Ayurveda, was attended by the Labour Minister of Delhi Shri Ramakant Goswami, the CEO of Quality Council Shri Giridhar Gyani and the president of Ayurveda Congress Shri Devendra Triguna.

Commenting on this achievement the Chairman, Maharishi Ayurveda Products Private limited (MAPPL) Shri Anand Prakash Shrivastava said, ''Accreditation of Maharishi Ayurveda, New Delhi, means that systems and processes of the hospital are in perfect consonance with the best healthcare practices followed across the globe.''

He said that any hospital striving to prove itself on the parameters of quality always look towards the accreditation from NABH. ''The healthcare accreditations in India has taken a pronounced tone in the backdrop of the increasing role of the healthcare insurance, rise in number of medico-legal cases and growing awakening of patients'', he added.  

Elaborating more Shri Anand Prakash Shrivastava said that the NABH accreditation earned by Maharishi Ayurveda Hospital recognizes that Maharishi Ayurveda Hospital  health-care services can match the best in the world. Patients from 59 countries, in addition to those from within India, will certainly rejoice for having taken their treatments in the hospital.

Addressing the conference the labour minister said the most challenging task for Ayurveda companies and the Vaidya fraternity is to save its credibility in the backdrop of globalization. He said that this could be achieved by scientific validation of Ayurveda medicines. The director of Maharishi Ayurveda Smt. Pragya Sharma honored him with the prime product Maharishi Amrit Kalash.  

Shri Devendra Triguna demanded the Ayurveda medicines be made available in all ESI hospitals so that people could benefit from these medicines without the side effects of modern medicines. (A.E.N.)
