by Leslie Tamura

20 June 2011
On 20 June 2011 The Washington Post reported:
Acclaimed writer-director David Lynch was all smiles as he talked with fellow Transcendental Meditation practitioner and CNN anchor Candy Crowley at American University's Katzen Art Center recently, about the technique that he says helped him let go of his anger and sorrow, and helped him reach his full creative potential. The David Lynch Foundation raises money to teach TM to people around the world.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of health.
The article refers to scientific research studies funded by the National Institutes of Health showing beneficial effects of the Transcendental Meditation technique on 'anxiety, high blood pressure, insulin sensitivity, stress, and depression'; as well as discussing other meditation practices.
Also featured during the event were comments by combat veterans; Dr Norman Rosenthal, professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical School and author of the recently published book, Transcendence: Healing and Transformation through Transcendental Meditation; and Clint Eastwood, who has been practising TM for almost 40 years, speaking via video.
