The grant is for research on using the Transcendental Meditation Technique in the treatment of coronary heart disease in African-Americans.
The research is a collaboration between the M.U.M. Institute for Natural Medicine and Prevention and Columbia University Medical School in New York City; the funding comes from the American Recovery and Investment Act via the NIH National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute.
