30 April 2009
On Akshaya Tritiya, the Day of Lasting Achievements in the Vedic calendar, the Global Country of World Peace Ministry of Health launched several key initiatives.
Dr Rainer Picha, Minister of Health for the Global Country of World Peace, reported these new projects on 28 April 2009, the day following Akshaya Tritiya.
Foremost, the Ministry of Health has resolved to train greater numbers of Maharishi Ayur-Veda health practitioners. Previously, said Dr Picha, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi had focussed less on training new health professionals, and more on developing a curriculum for Maharishi Ayur-Veda—a curriculum grounded in the 'Constitution of the Universe'.
Course materials are currently being prepared by international faculty of the Maharishi College of Perfect Health, to instruct health professionals in all countries throughout the world. Courses will begin in September of this year, Dr Picha added.
'We hope to bring out the most capable, enlightened health professionals to fulfil Maharishi's goal of creating a disease-free world,' continued Dr Picha. The Ministry of Health plans to begin training professionals in Japan, the 'Land of the Rising Sun'—symbolic of a new awakening in the medical world.
Also on Akshaya Tritiya, said Dr Picha, the Maharishi University of Vedic Medicine in Geneva, Switzerland, announced the launching of a new Bachelor of Science degree in Maharishi Vedic Medicine. Students will be able to enrol immediately into this programme, he said.
One more activity that commenced on the auspicious 27 April was the offering of Maharishi Light Therapy with Gems, now available worldwide. Together with the two department heads of Maharishi Light Therapy with Gems, said Dr Picha, the Global Ministry of Health has just finalized all policies and a business model for this activity, as well as course materials to train experts. The curriculum was presented to the education committee for their final adjustment and approval.
'With all these new initiatives in training professionals and launching new programmes around the world,' said Dr Picha, 'I feel we have significantly accelerated the creation of a disease free world and the fulfilment of Maharishi's desire for all of us to experience Heaven on Earth.'
