A new programme is to be held in MERU, Holland, offering an ideal approach to optimum physical training—integrating the most modern cardiovascular measurement and diagnostic techniques with ancient Vedic wisdom of health.
This integrative approach, the Maharishi Prevention and Rejuvenation Programme, will follow Vedic guidelines for exercise and is based on Maharishi's Vedic Approach to Health or Consciousness-Based Approach to Health. The new programme will develop the full potential of consciousness as well as physical capacity, and enlivenment of the all senses.
Dr Rainer Picha, a cardiologist and Minister of Health of the Global Country of World Peace, said that with this programme there is no stress and strain or exhaustion created in the physiology. To approach this in the most modern scientific way, special testing devices are used to calculate how many calories are being burned, how active are the fat and carbohydrate metabolism, and the oxygen consumption and carbon dioxide production.
Dr Picha explained that the human physiology is structured such that in low-mode physical exercise we are running on fat metabolism—the most healthy and efficient form of energy, since about twice the amount of energy is hidden in the fat tissue than in carbohydrates. The equipment will show when one reaches the maximum fat metabolism, which usually happens at a low level of exercise.
This is sufficient to create major change in the metabolism, Dr Picha said, which can be seen after only a couple of months of training.
By over-performing you can actually do harm to the body, Dr Picha continued. So the most beneficial level of exercise is determined for the individual, whatever form of exercise one likes to do—whether walking, biking, swimming, etc. The programme does not train any specific muscle but trains the cardiovascular system; it stimulates the whole metabolism, he said.
Dr Picha invited everyone to come and enjoy the benefits of Maharishi Prevention and Rejuvenation Programme. Please contact your National Transcendental Meditation organization or email for information and application to: firstname.lastname@example.org
