7 September 2007
Dr Walter Molk, Deputy Minister of Health of the Global Country of World Peace, who presided at the recent inauguration of 58 Maharishi Vedic Hospitals and Colleges of Vedic Medicine, commented on a demonstration of Vedic Dance Therapy by Dr Urvashi Shrivastava, and invited her to head the Department of Vedic Dance Therapy.
'Thank you very much Dr Urvashi Shrivastava,' Dr Molk said, 'this was really a great presentation and demonstration of Vedic Dance on its highest level, and we are very fortunate that you demonstrated this in the frame of our inauguration on Krishna's birthday [Krishna Janmashtami]. I think everyone understands now, why we say that Vedic Dance is not only an art, but also has a therapeutic effect. Actually there has also been some research showing that it has a relaxing effect on the different areas of the body, and therefore we want to invite Dr Urvashi Shrivastava to become the Head of the Department of Vedic Dance Therapy.'
Dr Molk pointed out that her performance showed a highly coordinated mind and body that matches the discovery of Maharaja Nader Raam—that physiology is consciousness. Therefore, when there is a high degree of co-ordination between physiology and consciousness, even physical exercise can be a way to promote higher states of consciousness.
'And as Maharishi Mahesh Yogi has already mentioned in connection with the other different therapies,' he continued, 'the basis of these different therapies—dance therapy, gem therapy, aromatherapy, water therapy, physiotherapy, Yagya therapy, these different Ayur-Vedic therapies—the basis is the Vedic knowledge contained in the different aspects of the Veda and Vedic Literature.'
