One hundred students arrived on the Maharishi University of Management campus in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, earlier this year to pursue an M.S. in Computer Science—the largest number since the spring of 2008.

Students in the Computer Professionals Program study on campus for eight months and then work in paid practicum positions in companies throughout the United States for two years. They complete their degrees via distance education during that two-year period.

The group includes 23 students from Ethiopia, 13 from Nepal, 8 from Bangladesh, 7 from Egypt, 7 from the Philippines, 6 from China, and 6 from Mongolia. Other countries represented include Cambodia, Colombia, Eritrea, Gambia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Moldova, Myanmar, Pakistan, Palestine, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the UK, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, and Vietnam.

''Transcendental Meditation is one of the important things that I've learned and experienced in MUM. It helps me to face stressful times, focus on my goals and live a simple, happy life,'' said Lerrie Oblego from the Philippines.
