Upon graduating from the recent Consciousness-Based Education Leadership Training course at Maharishi European Research University in the Netherlands, the international participants talked about their plans to implement the system of education they had just studied.
There were 33 graduates from 21 countries, who had come together to learn more about Consciousness-Based Education, a system developed by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to help students develop their full creative potential.
'This course has been great,' said a mathematics and physics high school teacher from Sweden. 'I've gained a lot of insight and look forward to starting our own Consciousness-Based high school in Sweden.'
A teacher from Georgia expressed a similar appreciation for the course, and the desire to create both Consciousness-Based schools and universities in his country.
Schoolteachers from Croatia and the United Kingdom saw Consciousness-Based Education as a chance to help young students.
The Croatian teacher said she would like to bring ideal education to children, and through their tender hearts create a better life and future for everyone. The teacher from the UK, who teaches in primary school, welcomed her newfound ability to present the knowledge of Consciousness-Based Education in an age-appropriate manner.
Other participants saw Consciousness-Based Education and Transcendental Meditation as an effective, scientifically validated means to create peace in their home countries. They were referring to the growing trend in many countries of establishing large groups of students practising Maharishi's peace-creating technologies of consciousness in their schools, to create an influence of coherence and harmony in the whole society.
'The most important thing that I took for myself from this course is the understanding that the destiny of my country is really in our hands now,' said a teacher from Ukraine. 'It's very inspiring. With this knowledge and technology, I don't see any better happiness' than to create a state of invincible peace and harmony for the nation.
'By implementing Maharishi's programme for Consciousness-Based Education,' added a secondary school teacher from Bulgaria, 'our shared goal for peace and enlightenment is getting closer.'
