Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment (MSAE) in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, is a unique school that aims to nourish both the inner and outer development of its students.

For nearly 40 years, Maharishi School has provided Consciousness-Based Education to students from early childhood education through high school.

In that time the school has provided challenging academics in an environment of success without stress, said Richard Beall, Ph.D., Head of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment.

A recent video about the school interviewed students, parents, and faculty, aiming to provide more understanding about this unique academic approach and its successful results.

'We like the idea of stretch but not stress,' Dr Beall said, 'because students should be challenged, they should know that they are doing their best possible work.'

This is possible due in part to small class sizes.

Said mathematics teacher Karen Price, 'The classes are small. I know all the children personally.'

Surya, an upper school student, agreed. 'We have a lot of one-on-one teaching so if you have a question you can take time with the teacher.'

Other students and teachers were quick to add that Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment encourages independent thinking and individual development.

'Maharishi School is a place where a child can come and figure out who they are as a person, and look at life in a way that they could say, this is what gets me excited,' added Richard Incorvia, teacher of English and social sciences.

Colette, an alumna and National Merit Scholar, said, 'MSAE encourages a lot of initiative, understanding your own goals and your own desires, and really taking control of your own education.'

A mother of two students at Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment explained that this focus on individual development and academic success without stress has been a gift for her daughters. She said, 'It has been a joy for us as parents. Isabel is curious again about learning. She's validated.'
