Dr Bevan Morris, President of Maharishi University of Management in the USA, passed a very busy few days in Ghana, the first stop in his current 14-country tour of Africa. In addition to meeting with several government ministers and presenting at seminars for practitioners of Transcendental Meditation and for a group of traditional rulers, Dr Morris also addressed a seminar for heads of higher education institutions in Ghana.
Dr Morris presented to a group of about 40 participants, many of whom are leaders in the field of education.
According to Dr Kwesi Orgle, director of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in Ghana, participants included government administrators, policy makers, educators, and community leaders, as well as leading members of the media and the press.
'This seminar was designed to provide an opportunity for leaders in the field of education to take advantage of the profound opportunity Consciousness-Based Education holds to awaken our nation's greatest resource, which is the inner genius of every young person in Ghana,' said Dr Orgle.
Some of the participants included a supreme court judge and chairman of the University Council of a leading university in Ghana. Another distinguished educator chaired the seminar and made very valuable contributions, Dr Orgle said.
Other participants included deans of university faculties, principals of colleges of education, and rectors of polytechnics.
Dr Orgle concluded that the conference was well-attended, with lively question-and-answer sessions.
