Latin America: Large Consciousness-Based Education projects being planned

Large Consciousness-Based Education projects are being planned in two Latin American countries, each with the potential for over one million students to learn the Transcendental Meditation Programme. An international conference about these programmes will take place in one country this November.

The intention is for many of the students to also learn the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying, by January or February 2012. These technologies of consciousness have been shown by scientific research to reduce stress and improve students' academic achievements, and their practice in large groups has also been documented to create coherence and harmony for the whole society.

At the schools of Father Gabriel Mejia in Colombia, a course in the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme is nearing completion. A similar course being held in traditional indigenous schools in another country is in its final stages, and Transcendental Meditation is being taught at schools and social centres in Peru.

Groups of Yogic Flyers in security forces—also known as prevention wings of the military—are growing gradually in maturity and numbers, and there is promise for thousands of participants in the coming months.

Several best-selling books on the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, which have recently been published in the US and Europe, will soon be made available in Latin America.
