The article features experiences of Conner Carey, a first-year student at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.
Before she came to study at MUM, her education was unfulfilling. 'It didn't matter to me, none of it affected my life or shaped me as a person,' Conner says.
She contrasts this with the joy and vibrancy of learning, and deep connectedness with her studies that she encountered in the academic programme at MUM. 'Consciousness-Based Education makes you a part of what you're learning. It becomes something that changes how you view, feel or live in the world. . . .
'Each class has meant something to me. It enlivens my soul . . . . It matters to me, and it is related to me. Everything we learn is related and reflected back upon us. Consciousness-Based education allows you to be conscious of your progress and growth here. . . . I have grown and changed exponentially since being here.'
