The Global Mother Divine Organization* (GMDO) in Ecuador, established in October 2009, is flourishing, especially in the areas of health and education.
A report from GMDO in Ecuador on recent achievements, including colourful photos, was featured among many presentations from delegates from around the world on 23 July—the final day of the organization's Third International Congress in MERU, Holland.
As a first step toward having a Day Spa, GMDO in Ecuador is offering relaxing, rejuvenating treatments of Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care to the general public. The first is Abhyanga (Ayurvedic oil massage). A flyer about the programme was distributed and brought a very good response. The first two ladies who came in for spa treatments had never heard of the Transcendental Meditation Programme, and both went on to learn the technique.
Global Mother Divine Organization leaders in Ecuador pointed out that any Transcendental Meditation centre can easily train technicians in this and other simple spa treatments; a manual and DVD are available for training.
After learning Transcendental Meditation, the Director of a combined primary and secondary (K-12) school wanted the entire administrative staff, every teacher, and all the 150 students in her school to learn and practise the technique, which they did.
The school did all their advertising for the new school year under the banner of Consciousness-Based Education and Stress-Free Schools. In the flyers they used to promote the programme, the last sentence reads: 'The application of this programme is not a luxury for our children and youth, who are growing up in a world full of tension, crisis and fears; it is a necessity because it promotes a life in harmony.' They were very satisfied with their enrolment for the year.
Everyone at the school is delighted with their practice and the programme. Administrators of the project hope to introduce the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme to the school later this year.
At a recent knowledge fair, the National Director of the Global Mother Divine Organization in Ecuador was approached by the rector of a public secondary school with 500 students. The rector had heard that the Consciousness-Based Education programme in Ecuador was so well organized and administered, and was producing so much calm, alertness, and orderliness in the students, that he also wanted all of his students to practise Transcendental Meditation. GMDO leaders are looking forward to soon bringing Consciousness-Based Education to another fortunate school in Ecuador.
In the coming days, Global Good News will continue reporting on GMDO delegates' reports from other countries, as well as on other presentations during the Congress.
