The article features the experiences of several international students living and studying at Maharishi University of Management (MUM) in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.
In recent video interviews they describe the deep rest, increased energy, and happiness they experience through the Transcendental Meditation Programme.
A recent graduate from Germany described the effect she gained from the technique as the ability to 'charge your system to be more effective and more creative; and you're not accumulating stress, therefore you're not getting sick somewhere in the future. You're able to be more creative and apply yourself throughout your day, so I think it's a very good investment in regards to time.'
Other students describe how the deep silence they experience during meditation brings great happiness, as well as greatly increased energy in daily life as a result of the practice. One MUM faculty member, who is also an alumna, said, 'When you come out of that you feel more refreshed. You feel much better and more alive and more awake.'
