Consciousness-Based Education programmes are drawing increasing attention in countries around the world. A recent report on Trinidad and Tobago, Norway, Togo, and Uganda highlights progress in these countries through programmes offered by the Global Country of World Peace, especially in the field of education.*
Trinidad and Tobago
National Yagyas recently held for Trinidad and Tobago have supported positive changes for the country, said Raja Graham de Freitas, Raja of Invincible Trinidad and Tobago, Norway, Togo, and Uganda for the Global Country. In the field of politics, a new government was elected with practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in senior positions. Also, Transcendental Meditation Teachers will soon be meeting with leaders of agriculture and education in Trinidad and Tobago about the application of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes in those areas.
The school board of a Hindu school where a group of Transcendental Meditation practitioners meets weekly has written a very powerful endorsement of the programme which will help support further expansion of the programme.
Since the beginning of the year, the number of people learning Transcendental Meditation in Norway has increased by 60 percent, and many good articles on Maharishi Ayur-Veda health care and the clinic in Norway have appeared in the press.
A spring visit by Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace, brought knowledge and inspiration to the people of the area, creating a rising momentum of activity and expansion of Maharishi's programmes.
In Togo, local Transcendental Meditation Teachers have established a beautiful new Maharishi Invincibility Centre** in the capital city, Lome.
Raja Graham and Dr Leanne de Freitas visited land in northern Togo where they hope to establish a Maharishi Invincibility School, as well as projects in Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture.
In Uganda, a seminar in May attracted 50 participants to hear about Consciousness-Based Education, after which several schools expressed immediate interest in implementing Transcendental Meditation. Helping to instruct the students of these schools and others will be three new TM Teachers who have just completed their training course.
At the Consciousness-Based Education school run by Dr Grant Lusimbo, National Director of Uganda for the Global Country of World Peace, the bright and orderly students are attracting people's attention. In this way the school is becoming increasingly influential in the local community.
