Two leading universities in Mexico have agreed to implement the Transcendental Meditation Programme on a large scale.
One of these universities, which is recognized as a top institution throughout the world, will begin by instructing 7,000 students in the programme. 'Because of the school's stature, we hope this development will produce a global wave of interest in Consciousness-Based Education,' said Raja Jose Luis Alvarez,* Raja of Invincible Latin America for the Global Country of World Peace.
In addition, an agricultural university in Mexico will be implementing Transcendental Meditation. This university is unique in that 21 indigenous Mexican tribes are represented among its student population.
'It is a great joy that Maharishi's programmes for education have reached this level in Latin America, so that the highest-educated people are recognizing the importance of total brain development,' said Raja Luis in conclusion.
* Raja Luis's report was featured on the 22 June 2010 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
