Invincible Donovan University is part of plans being developed for a Maharishi Peace Colony and Tower of Invincibility on the north side of Edinburgh. The project is being led by renowned singer-songwriter Donovan, inspired by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's vision to create a university offering Consciousness-Based Education to the youth of Scotland.
Two Consciousness-Based schools—one for boys, and one for girls, will also be located on the ground floor of the Maharishi Tower of Invincibility, which will be at the northwest corner of the site.
Dr Henry Brighouse, National Director of Architecture in Scotland for the Global Country of World Peace, explained plans for the hall designed for group practice of Yogic Flying, which will also have meeting spaces and rooms for teaching the Transcendental Meditation Programme.*
On adjacent land, plans include construction of two blocks of six flats, a nine-bedroom guest house, and a terrace of three houses, according to requirements of the emerging market. These structures would constitute the initial core of a coherence-creating community.
* Dr Brighouse spoke on the 30 April Maharishi Global Family Chat, which is broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
