The fourth annual David Lynch Weekend, 13-16 November 2009 at Maharishi University of Management (M.U.M.), Fairfield, Iowa, USA, will offer exciting networking opportunities for student practitioners of the Transcendental Meditation Programme, and for creative students influenced by the films of Dr David Lynch.

'This year's David Lynch Weekend will bring us closer to our long-term goal of creating the next generation of leadership for Maharishi's worldwide organization,' said Dr Robert Roth, National Director of Expansion for the Global Country of World Peace in the US, on Maharishi Global Family Chat.*

'We'll be gathering hundreds of like-minded students at M.U.M. in three distinct tracks,' Dr Roth continued. The first track—and most important—will be the visitor's weekend for prospective students interested in attending the university, which has been part of the special David Lynch Weekend in previous years. 'This fall at M.U.M., the freshman class was the largest it's been in 20 years, and we'd like to expand that number exponentially,' said Dr Roth.

Another track will be an organizational meeting for David Lynch Foundation Television (dlf.tv), for students influenced by the work of Dr David Lynch, and those interested in the relationship between Transcendental Meditation and creativity. David Lynch Foundation Television will hold a series of workshops over the weekend, which will encourage visiting students to learn Transcendental Meditation if they haven't already, and to establish affiliate clubs at their campuses to further the Foundation's initiatives.

Lastly, this year's David Lynch Weekend will feature the First Annual National Congress of Meditating Students, for high school and college students in the US practising Transcendental Meditation. During the weekend, students will discuss how to establish clubs, or Students' TM Associations, on their campuses. 'The goal is for these clubs to offer introductory lectures on Transcendental Meditation, instruction in TM, advanced lectures, and webcast speeches by Raja John Hagelin, Raja of Invincible America, and Dr David Lynch.'

These events, stated Dr Roth in conclusion, will help launch the outreach to bring the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to a new generation.

* Dr Roth's report was featured on the 27 October 2009 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
