Substantial steps are being taken in Brazil to implement the Transcendental Meditation Programme in public schools.
Speaking recently on Maharishi Global Family Chat*, Raja Jose Luis Alvarez, Raja of Invincible Latin America for the Global Country of World Peace, reported that the government of Brazil is initiating a programme to introduce Transcendental Meditation into schools on an extremely broad scale. 'The group of schools involved in the campaign are made up of nearly 1.5 million students, all of whom we hope will eventually learn the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying,' expressed Raja Luis.
A large celebration is being organized, to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 29 October 2009, to honour the launching of this programme. Attending the event will be the country's top artists, scientists, and other prominent citizens. In addition, Dr David Lynch, renowned filmmaker and champion of Consciousness-Based Education, will address the celebration via video.
Raja Luis will report further on this historic event and these momentous new developments during an upcoming Maharishi Global Family Chat.
* Raja Luis's report was featured on the 6 October 2009 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
