A national campaign has begun in Canada to introduce educators to groundbreaking research on brain integration. Dr Guy-Paul Gagné,* a medical professor, and Dr Ashley Deans,** a physicist and educator, are among the world's leading experts in Consciousness-Based Education, which includes the Transcendental Meditation Technique for developing students' total brain functioning.
Meeting with school principals and teachers across Canada recently, Dr Gagné and Dr Deans explained the importance of recently published studies by foremost brain researcher, Dr Fred Travis, Director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management, USA.
'We used to talk about Transcendental Meditation in terms of increasing brain wave coherence,' said Dr Gagné. 'Dr Travis took it further in his research and developed the Brain Integration Scale—a composite of three objective measurements: frontal EEG coherence, alpha/gamma ratio, and cortical preparatory response.'
These three things together show efficiency in activity, and the development of human potential. According to the research, the Transcendental Meditation Technique appears to be the best method for developing integrated brain functioning.
In the coming days Global Good News will feature the second part of Dr Gagné's talk, in which he described in detail the three measures that make up the Brain Integration Scale.
* Dr Guy-Paul Gagné, a medical doctor and Professor of Medicine at McGill University, is Canada's National Director of Health for the Global Country of World Peace.
** Dr Ashley Deans, quantum physicist and Executive Director of Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment, Iowa, USA, is Canada's National Director of Education for the Global Country of World Peace.
