Dr Ashley Deans, Ambassador of the Global Country of World Peace for Consciousness-Based Education, recently completed a tour of Lebanon, during which he gave presentations to schools around the country on the educational programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
During his country-wide tour, Dr Deans presented to hundreds of educators and thousands of students at 25 of the top schools and universities in the country. 'He spoke brilliantly on the topic of Consciousness-Based Education at the schools he visited,' reported Raja Lucien Mansour, Raja of Lebanon for the Global Country of World Peace, on 20 January 2009, 'and has already convinced many school leaders to adopt the Transcendental Meditation Programme into their curricula.'
During his visit, Dr Deans was also interviewed by two Lebanese television stations and by some of the country's leading newspapers. 'These interviews led to excellent articles and TV broadcasts,' commented Raja Lucien.
Dr Deans met with several top government officials and educational leaders in the country. They all responded positively to the prospect of introducing Maharishi's programmes into their schools.
One school principal in Lebanon, a dedicated practitioner of the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, has already signed a letter of intent to introduce the Transcendental Meditation Programme to students and teachers. The school has over 300 students, reported Raja Lucien, which is greater than the number needed to create invincibility for Lebanon.
