Maharishi University of Management: Dr Hagelin speaks at Founder's Day celebration - Part I

Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA is fulfilling the purpose for which it was founded, said Dr John Hagelin, world-renowned quantum physicist and executive director of the International Center for Invincible Defense in New York City, in his talk during the university's 36th annual Founder's Day celebration on 12 September 2007.

Maharishi University of Management, the first Consciousness-Based Education institution is creating enlightenment for the individual, invincibility for the nation, and peace for the world, Dr Hagelin said.

Addressing those assembled at the Maharishi University of Management campus in Fairfield and at the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in MERU Holland, as well as viewers around the world connected to the celebration via live broadcast by satellite and the Internet, Dr Hagelin said 'what a wonderful joy to share with you this occasion of highly auspicious nature . . . the birth of Consciousness-Based Education, the birth of Vedic Education in the world—36 years ago today when Maharishi founded this great institution, the world's first institution of Consciousness-Based Education.'

Dr Hagelin continued saying 'Maharishi is justifiably proud, justifiably deeply satisfied with this institution 36 years later, because this institution, now, is fulfilling its goal—really fulfilling the goal for which it was founded, the goal of Unified Field-based, Consciousness-Based, Vedic Education in the world. And that goal is nothing short of enlightenment for the individual, invincibility for the nation, and peace for the world.

'That is a Maharishi-sized vision,' Dr Hagelin said. 'Other universities are founded by, and named for, philanthropists, statesmen, educators in some cases—but ours is the most extraordinary founder in the long history of education—supreme enlightened sage of this, or any age.

'And how is this institution fulfilling its goal of enlightenment to the individual, invincibility to the nation, and peace to the world?' asked Dr Hagelin.

'I'd like to reflect a little bit with you today, on the mechanics of this global transformation. Every single student at this university is absolutely precious, every faculty member, every [member of the] staff, especially those students who . . . are participating in this Invincible America Assembly. . . .'

Dr Hagelin said that the students participating in the Assembly have 'joined close to 2,000 other Yogic Flyers from all over the country and Canada, and different parts of the world who have come to . . . create this incredible influence of national prosperity, peace, and invincibility.

'The nature of the transformation of civilization is extremely interesting and it is happening now. Those who are acute observers of the news, acute observers of the history of this country, acute observers of the affairs of human kind, will unmistakably see, as modern science has confirmed, we are in the beginning of a . . . change here, in the destiny and the profile and the nature of human kind.'

Dr Hagelin said that this change 'is emanating from this place, from these walls, and the 2,000 people here who have gathered—some as students, others as friends of the community, friends of the university, to practice the Yogic Flying, [and] are creating an extraordinary transformation.'
