Maharishi School in Madhya Pradesh first to host national hockey tournament

Maharishi Vidya Mandir School in Ratanpur Bhopal, India recently sponsored and organized a National Hockey Tournament for the Central Board of Secondary Education. Public dignitaries attended the event and 28 schools from across India were represented in the contest.
The tournament lasted five days, beginning on 15 November with an inaugural ceremony and concluding on 19 November with the closing ceremony.
This is the first time that any school in the state of Madhya Pradesh has sponsored a national hockey tournament. There was extensive media coverage across the nation of this unprecedented event, which was widely given great recognition for its success.
Over 28 teams from schools all across India competed, bringing the number of hockey players who participated in the event to over 500.
Numerous esteemed government officials attended the tournament, appreciating all the effort and organization done by the Maharishi Vidya Mandir School. Among those in attendance were: Public Works Department Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, who inaugurated the tournament, and Governor of State His Excellency Shri Balram Jakhar, the chief guest in the closing ceremony.
Other distinguished guests present were: Minister of Finance Shri Raghav Ji Bhai and Minister of School Education Shri Paras Jain. Several national and state-level sports experts, including Hockey experts were present as well.
Maharishi Vidya Mandir School is a highly commended secondary school in Madhya Pradesh offering Maharishi's Consciousness-Based Education to all its students and faculty.
